Old-Fashioned Raisin Bread Pudding - cooking recipe
Ingredients

6 slices Sun-Maid raisin bread
2 c. milk
2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
2 eggs
1/4 c. sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
nutmeg or cinnamon sugar
Preparation

Slice raisin bread into 3/4-inch pieces.
Place in shallow buttered 1-quart baking dish.
Set aside.
Heat milk with butter until hot and butter is melted (do not allow mixture to boil). Beat eggs with sugar, vanilla and salt.
Add hot milk mixture, stirring constantly.
Pour over bread.
Allow to stand for 5 minutes.
Sprinkle with nutmeg or cinnamon sugar.
Set baking dish in pan with hot water to half the depth of dish.
Bake, uncovered, at 350\u00b0 for about 50 minutes or until custard is set. Serve warm or cold.
Makes 4 to 6 servings.
