Old Fashioned Rice Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 3/4 c. water
    1/2 c. Uncle Ben's converted rice
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 c. milk
    2 beaten eggs
    1/3 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    raisins (if desired)
Preparation
    Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Bring water and rice to boil; add salt. Simmer, covered, 30 minutes.
    Add milk; stir occasionally, until mixture thickens, about 5 minutes.
    Combine eggs, sugar and vanilla; gradually stir into rice mixture and mix well.
    Pour into 1 1/2-quart casserole.
    If desired, stir in raisins and sprinkle nutmeg or cinnamon over top.
    Place in pan of hot water.
    Bake, uncovered, for 45 minutes, or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.
