Old Fashioned Bread Stuffing - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. onion, finely chopped
    1 1/2 c. celery, finely chopped
    1/3 c. butter or margarine
    8 c. dry bread cubes (1/2-inch)
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1/2 tsp. poultry seasoning
    1/2 tsp. sage or substitute 1 tsp. more of other
    1/4 c. water or chicken broth
    1 egg, well beaten
Preparation
    Saute onion and celery in butter in a skillet until tender. Add mixture to bread cubes which have been placed in a large pan. Sprinkle with seasonings which have been mixed together and mix well. Add water and egg.
    Toss together with forks.
    Stuff thawed bird and immediately roast.
