Lemon Chicken - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 fryer, cut up
    1/4 c. lemon juice
    3/4 c. water
    1 tsp. thyme
    3 medium or 2 large onions, chopped fine
    2 cloves garlic, chopped fine
    salt and pepper to taste
    1/2 stick margarine
Preparation
    Brown chicken in margarine in large skillet.
    Do in batches. Remove from skillet.
    Add onions and garlic to drippings.
    Cook until soft but not brown.
    Add chicken to top of onion and garlic. Mix lemon juice with water.
    Pour over chicken.
    Sprinkle with spices and seasonings.
    Cover and simmer 45 minutes until done and tender.
    Serve over cooked rice.
