Sweet-Sour Pot Roast - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 Tbsp. Crisco
4 lb. chuck or rump roast
2 onions, sliced
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
1/4 c. honey
1/4 c. sugar
juice of 2 lemons
1 tsp. salt or to taste
Preparation

Heat shortening in Dutch oven or heavy skillet with tight fitting lid.
Add meat and onions.
Brown, turning often.
Add pepper, cloves, honey, sugar, lemon juice and salt.
Cover tightly.
Simmer slowly over heat or bake in a 300\u00b0 oven for 3 to 3 1/2 hours, until meat is tender.
