Egg Custard - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 eggs
1 1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. sugar
3 Tbsp. butter
Preparation

Melt butter.
Add milk; heat to scalding (not boil).
Beat the eggs slightly.
Add sugar and vanilla; stir into milk.
Strain into a 9-inch pastry lined pan.
Sprinkle with nutmeg.
Bake at 475\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
Turn control to 375\u00b0 and bake 10 minutes longer.
(Before filling crust, brush the crust with unbeaten egg whites.)
