Mom'S Cole Slaw - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large cabbage head, shredded
    1 carrot, chopped longways
    1 mango, cut in long, fine strips
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. vinegar
    1 3/4 c. sugar
    1/2 c. water
    2 tsp. celery seed
    2 tsp. mustard seed
    salt to taste (about 1/2 tsp.)
Preparation
    Let the first 3 ingredients stand with 1 teaspoon salt for 1 hour; stir often.
    Then combine remaining ingredients.
    Bring to a boil and boil for 5 minutes.
    Let this cool and then pour over the cabbage mixture that has been sitting for 1 hour.
    Mix well.
