French Lemon Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lemon
    1/2 c. granulated sugar
    1 stick (4 oz.) unsalted butter, cut into 8 pieces
    2 large eggs
    1 c. less 2 Tbsp. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 c. confectioners sugar
    juice of 1 lemon
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 325\u00b0.
    Adjust rack to center position.
    Butter and flour round 8-inch cake pan.
    Grate lemon peel and mix with sugar; add butter and beat until smooth.
    Add eggs and beat until well blended.
    Mix baking powder and flour and add to mixture and beat until blended.
    Do not overstir.
    Pour into pan and bake about 25 minutes until toothpick comes out clean.
    Cool slightly in pan.
