Grandma Jones Applesauce Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. butter or oleo
3 c. unsweetened applesauce
4 c. raisins (2 boxes)
1 c. pecans or walnuts
2 Tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. each cinnamon and cloves
2 tsp. vanilla
4 tsp. baking soda
4 c. flour

Preparation

Cream butter and sugar, then add applesauce, raisins and nuts. Sift together all dry ingredients, then add together with vanilla.
Mixture will be very stiff.
Bake in 2 tube cake pans (one 9-inch and one 6-inch) or two loaf pans.
Bake for 1 hour in 325\u00b0 oven.
