Layered Lettuce Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce, cut fine
    1 c. celery, diced
    10 oz. pkg. frozen peas, uncooked
    1 c. green pepper, diced
    4 hard-boiled eggs, chopped
    1 sweet onion, diced
    8 slices bacon, cooked and diced
    3 c. mayonnaise
    3 Tbsp. sugar
    Cheddar cheese
Preparation
    Break lettuce in small pieces.
    Place in glass 9 x 12-inch dish, then put in layers celery, peas, pepper, eggs, onion and bacon.
    Add sugar to mayonnaise and spread over like icing.
    Top with Cheddar cheese.
    Cover and put in refrigerator for 6 to 8 hours.
