Cowboy Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 slices bacon
    1 c. sliced onion (1 large)
    1/2 c. chopped green pepper
    1 clove garlic, crushed
    1 1/2 lb. ground chuck or round
    1 (1 lb. 13 oz.) tomatoes
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 Tbsp. chili powder
    1 (12 oz.) can whole kernel corn, drained
    1 can (about 1 lb.) red kidney beans, drained
    2 c. cubed, pared potatoes
Preparation
    Cook bacon until crisp; drain on paper towels.
    Crumble; reserve.
    Saute onion, green pepper and garlic in bacon drippings until tender.
    Add ground beef; cook until well browned, breaking up with fork as it cooks.
    Add tomatoes, salt, pepper and chili powder.
    Cover; simmer 30 minutes.
    Add vegetables; simmer 15 minutes.
    Sprinkle with bacon.
    Makes 8 servings.
