Cinnamon Jumbles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg
    3/4 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Mix together shortening, sugar and egg.
    Stir in buttermilk and vanilla.
    (To make buttermilk, replace 1 tablespoon of milk with vinegar.)
    Sift together and stir in flour, soda and salt.
    Chill dough.
    Drop teaspoonfuls 2-inches apart on lightly greased pan. Sprinkle with mixture of 1/4 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Bake until set but not brown.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
