Gingerbread Cookie Dough - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 c. unsifted all-purpose flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    3 tsp. ground cinnamon
    2 tsp. ground ginger
    1 tsp. ground nutmeg
    1 c. vegetable shortening
    1 c. granulated sugar
    1 c. molasses
    1 egg
Preparation
    Sift flour, salt, cinnamon, ginger, cloves and nutmeg into a bowl.
    Beat shortening with sugar in another larger bowl until fluffy.
    Beat in molasses and egg.
    Stir in flour mixture to make a stiff dough.
    Chill 1 hour.
    Cut out on foil lined baking sheets.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
    Allow to cool before moving.
    Decorate cookies with Royal Frosting.
