Chocolate Scratch Cake - cooking recipe

1 1/3 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs
3 c. flour
1 c. milk
4 tsp. baking powder
3 Tbsp. cocoa or to taste
Preparation

Cream shortening; add sugar and cocoa.
Add unbeaten egg and vanilla; beat thoroughly. Sift flour and baking soda.
Add flour mixture alternately with milk to sugar mixture.
Pour in well-greased pan (13 x 9 x 2-inch) or layered pan.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 35 minutes.
