Old Time Lemon Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (9-inch) baked pie crust
    1 1/3 c. sugar
    1 1/4 c. water
    2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    1/3 c. cornstarch
    1/2 c. water
    4 egg yolks (save whites)
    3 Tbsp. milk
    1/2 c. lemon juice
    1 1/2 tsp. lemon peel
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
Preparation
    Heat sugar, water and butter or margarine until sugar dissolves.
    Blend cornstarch and cold water.
    Add to hot mixture. Cook slowly until clear, about 8 minutes.
    Beat egg yolks with milk.
    Slowly stir into cornstarch mixture.
    Cook 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
    Remove from heat and add lemon juice and lemon peel.
    Cool. Pour into cooled pie crust.
