Date Muffins - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1/3 c. sugar
1/2 c. cut up pitted dates
1 egg
1/4 c. vinegar
3/4 c. milk
1/3 c. melted shortening, cooled
Preparation

Sift together the flour, salt, baking soda and sugar.
Add dates; combine well with dry ingredients.
Combine egg, vinegar and milk; stir in shortening.
Add to dry mixture all at once. Stir until dry ingredients are just dampened, not smooth.
Spoon batter into greased muffin pans, filling 2/3 full.
Bake in a 425\u00b0 oven for about 20 minutes.
