Italian Cheese Spread - cooking recipe

1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
1/2 c. sour cream
1 (0.7 oz.) envelope Italian-style dressing mix
1 c. (4 oz.) shredded Cheddar cheese
Preparation

Beat cream cheese at medium speed until fluffy; add sour cream and dressing mix, beating until blended. Reserve 1 tablespoon Cheddar cheese; stir remaining cheese into cream cheese mixture. Spoon into a bowl. Cover and chill 2 hours. Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon reserved cheese; serve with crackers or party rye bread.
