Apple Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. water
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    3 Tbsp. oleo
    2 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    2/3 c. shortening
    1/2 c. milk
    6 apples, pared, cored and sliced
Preparation
    Combine sugar, water and spices.
    Bring to a boil.
    Remove from heat and add butter.
    Mix together the dry ingredients.
    Cut in shortening.
    Add milk and stir until flour is moist.
    Roll small amount of dough in a big enough circle to cover an apple.
    Place 4 slices of apple in middle of dough.
    Sprinkle with sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg and dot with butter.
    Wrap dough over apples.
    Place in pan.
    Pour cooked syrup over dough and apples.
    Sprinkle with sugar.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 until brown.
