Lei Chiffon Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. sifted flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. cooking oil
7 unbeaten egg yolks
3/4 c. pineapple juice
2 tsp. grated lemon rind
2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. well-drained crushed pineapple
1 c. egg whites (7 or 8)
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
Preparation

Beat until whites form very stiff peaks.
Mix about 1 cup of the egg white mixture into the flour mixture to lighten.
Pour egg yolk mixture gradually over whipped egg whites, gently folding with rubber spatula just until blended.
Do not stir.
