Caramels - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 lb. margarine (2 sticks)
1 c. white Karo syrup
1 tsp. vanilla
1 box light brown sugar
1 c. Eagle Brand milk
Preparation

Melt margarine, then add brown sugar until blended.
Add milk and Karo syrup.
Stir constantly until it reaches soft ball stage. It will change color and start to pull away from side of pan. (You can use candy thermometer.)
Remove from heat and add vanilla.
Pour into greased pan and refrigerate.
Turn out onto cutting board.
Cut into pieces and wrap in wax paper.
