Aunt Sugar'S Yam Pone - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 medium large yams (about 1 1/2 lb.)
    1/2 lb. butter (2 sticks)
    2 large eggs, slightly beaten
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. light or dark molasses
    2 c. milk
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. unsifted flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. nutmeg
Preparation
    Peel yams and grate medium fine; there should be 4 cups slightly packed down.
