Orange Slice Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 1/2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 lb. orange slice candy, cut up
    8 oz. chopped pitted dates
    2 c. chopped nuts
    1 c. butter or oleo
    1 (3 1/4 oz.) can coconut
    2 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 c. buttermilk
    2 c. powdered sugar
    1 c. orange juice
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 300\u00b0.
    Sift flour and salt together.
    Combine the next 4 ingredients and mix well.
    Add 1/4 cup of flour mixture.
    Toss to coat evenly and set aside.
    Cream butter and sugar gradually, beating until light.
    Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each.
    Combine soda and buttermilk.
    Add alternately with flour mix.
    Add candy mixture.
    Beat well.
    Spoon into a 10-inch tube pan.
    Bake 1 hour and 45 minutes.
