Cherry Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 (16 oz.) cans pitted tart red cherries
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. cornstarch
1 Tbsp. butter
4 drops almond extract
1 pastry lined 9-inch pie shell
1 pastry for lattice top of pie
Preparation

Drain cherries; reserving 1 cup liquid.
In a large saucepan, combine 3/4 cup of the sugar and the cornstarch.
Stir in reserved cherry liquid.
Cook over medium heat until thickened and bubbly, stirring constantly.
Cook and stir for 2 more minutes.
Remove from heat.
Stir in remaining sugar, butter and almond extract; stir in cherries.
Cool slightly.
Transfer filling to a pastry lined 9-inch pie pan.
Top with lattice crust.
Cover edge with foil.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
Crust should be golden. Makes 6 servings.
