Spiced Pilaf - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. chopped dried apricots
    1/4 c. chopped dates
    8 Tbsp. olive oil
    1 large onion, chopped
    1 tsp. allspice
    2 garlic cloves, chopped
    1 1/2 c. long grain rice
    2 1/2 c. beef stock or water
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1 lb. lean ground lamb or beef
    1 Tbsp. tomato paste
    1 tsp. ground cumin
    1 egg, beaten
    1/2 c. pine nuts
    2 Tbsp. chopped parsley
    1 c. bread crumbs
Preparation
    Soak the bread crumbs in 1/2 cup of water for 5 minutes. Squeeze dry and place in a bowl.
    Add meat, tomato paste, cumin and egg.
    Mix together thoroughly.
    Season with salt and pepper.
    With damp hands, roll the meat into balls about the size of walnuts.
