Gingersnaps - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter or margarine, softened
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. molasses
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 Tbsp. water
    3 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 Tbsp. ground ginger
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Beat butter in large bowl at medium speed of electric mixer; gradually add sugar, beating well.
    Add molasses; beat well. Combine soda and water, stirring until soda dissolves.
    Add to creamed mixture.
    Combine flour and remaining ingredients; add to creamed mixture, mixing well.
    Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheets and flatten slightly with a flat bottomed glass dipped in flour.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 9 to 10 minutes or until done.
    Cool slightly on cookie sheet; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
    Yields 8 dozen.
