Ingredients

2 sticks butter or margarine
2 c. brown sugar
3 eggs, well beaten
1 tsp. baking soda in 1/4 c. hot water
3 c. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1/2 tsp. ground allspice
1 lb. raisins
1 lb. pecan pieces
Preparation

Heat oven to 375\u00b0.
Cream butter and sugar.
Add eggs and blend well.
Add hot water and soda.
Stir.
Add 2 1/2 cups flour, a little at a time.
Mix 1/2 cup flour with raisins and nuts, along with cinnamon, cloves and allspice.
Add to egg mixture all of flour.
Then add raisins and nuts.
Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets.
Bake approximately 15 to 20 minutes until brown.
Do not burn!!
