Raisin Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. active dry yeast
    1/4 c. soft butter
    1/2 c. milk, scalded
    3 to 3 1/4 c. sifted flour
    1 c. raisins
    1/4 c. water
    1/4 c. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1 slightly beaten egg
Preparation
    Soften yeast in warm water.
    Combine butter, sugar, salt and milk (cooled).
    Add 1 1/2 cups flour; beat well.
    Add yeast and eggs; beat well.
    Add raisins.
    Stir in enough flour to make moderately stiff dough.
    Turn out on a lightly floured surface and knead until dough is smooth and elastic.
    Place in lightly greased bowl, turning once to grease surface.
    Cover and let double in warm place (1 1/2 to 2 hours).
