Ingredients

2 c. sugar
3/4 lb. butter (3 sticks)
2 egg yolks
2 tsp. vanilla
4 c. sifted flour
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar.
Add egg yolks and vanilla.
Mix well. Add flour and mix thoroughly.
Shape dough into small balls, the size of a walnut.
Flatten slightly.
Make a small indentation in the center of each cookie by using a thimble and lightly pressing the center with your thumb.
Spoon a small amount of your favorite jelly or jam into the indentation.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned.
Makes 7 to 8 dozen.
