Seven Minute Frosting #1 - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    2 egg whites
    1/4 c. cold water
    2 tsp. vanilla
    pinch of salt
Preparation
    Mix sugar, cream of tartar, salt, egg whites and water in a 2-quart mixing bowl.
    Set over simmering water.
    Beat with portable electric mixer about 5 to 7 minutes. Remove from water and continue beating a few minutes.
    Beat in vanilla.
    Spread between layers and on top and sides.
    Sprinkle coconut on top of frosting between each layer and top of cake.
