Opal'S Seven Layered Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce
    1/2 c. onion
    1/2 c. celery
    1 (8 oz.) can sliced water chestnuts
    1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas
    1 c. real mayonnaise
    1 jar bacon bits
Preparation
    Break lettuce into small pieces and place in large casserole dish.
    Layer remaining ingredients.
    Refrigerate.
