Date Nut Loaf - cooking recipe
Ingredients

5 c. sugar
2 c. milk (Pet cream)
1 lb. dates, cut in pieces
3 Tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. chopped pecans
cherries (if desired), cut in half
Preparation

Combine sugar, cream and dates, stirring constantly. Cook to the soft ball stage, 236\u00b0.
Add butter and allow to cool until lukewarm. Add vanilla and nuts.
Stir (smooth) until creamy. Pour on a damp towel and mold into a roll about 2-inches.
When cold, remove towel. Roll in powdered sugar.
Slice with a sharp knife.
