Ingredients

1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
1 c. shortening
2 eggs
2 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
2 c. crushed potato chips
chocolate chips or nuts, as desired
1 cup butter or margarine, melted
1-1/2 c. sugar
2 c. dates, chopped
Preparation

Stir and let boil 2 minutes.
Beat 2 eggs and add to slightly cooled date mixture.
Add 2 tablespoons milk and 1 teaspoon salt. Boil 2 minutes more while stirring.
Take off stove and add 1 teaspoon vanilla, 1 cup chopped nuts and 1 cup Rice Krispies, slightly crushed.
Shape into balls and roll in coconut or powdered sugar.
