Vanilla Extract - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 or 2 vanilla beans
    1 liter bottle vodka or rum
Preparation
    Split a bean lengthwise and cut into 2-inch pieces.
    Store in bottle of vodka or rum and let it sit in a dark spot (in a cupboard) for at least 6 weeks.
    The longer you let the beans marinate, the stronger the flavor will be.
