Sadie Hobb'S Brownstone Front Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

3/4 c. Hershey's chocolate
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 egg yolk, beaten
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. milk
2 c. flour
2 eggs
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. soda
1 tsp. vanilla

Preparation

Combine and mix first 4 ingredients in order given.
Cook slowly until thick; cool.
Cream butter and brown sugar.
Add well the beaten eggs.
Sift dry ingredients and add alternately with milk.
Add cooled chocolate mixture and vanilla.
Beat until smooth.
Bake 15 to 20 minutes.
This makes a 3 layer cake.
