Summer Squash Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. squash
    1 large chopped onion
    1 c. mayonnaise
    1 c. shredded extra strong cheese
    12 soda crackers, crumbled
    3 eggs, beaten
    1 pkg. Hidden Valley Ranch dressing mix
    buttered cornbread crumbs
Preparation
    Cut squash into 1/2-inch pieces and cook until barely tender (lightly salted).
    Drain.
    Lightly saute chopped onion.
    Mix ingredients 1 through 7 and place in 1 1/2 quart casserole dish (oiled).
    Cover with buttered crumbs.
    Bake in 350\u00b0 oven about 35 minutes.
    This is a very popular covered dish item.
