Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. each: soda, salt, cinnamon, cloves and ginger
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1 c. water
    1 c. molasses
Preparation
    Sift flour once; measure.
    Add baking powder, soda, salt and spices.
    Cream shortening; add sugar gradually.
    Cream well.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each.
    Combine water and molasses.
    Add dry mixture to creamed mixture alternately with liquid mixture until smooth after each addition.
    Bake in a greased pan, 10 x 10 x 2-inch, in a 350\u00b0 oven for 45 minutes.
