Oatmeal Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. hot water
    1 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 1/3 c. flour
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 c. oatmeal
    1 c. white sugar
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
    Pour hot water over oatmeal and let stand.
    Cream brown sugar, white sugar and shortening, then beat eggs into mixture.
    Sift flour (cake or self-rising), cinnamon and nutmeg.
    Add to shortening mixture, then add oatmeal mixture.
    Stir all together well and bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 minutes in an oblong cake pan.
