Chow Chow Relish - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. chopped cabbage
    1 doz. chopped onions
    2 gal. chopped green tomatoes
    6 or 8 chopped green peppers
    6 or 8 chopped red peppers
    1 gal. cider vinegar
    6 Tbsp. mustard seed
    3 Tbsp. celery seed
    1 Tbsp. whole cloves (in a cloth bag)
    1/2 c. salt
Preparation
    Chop all vegetables; sprinkle with salt and let stand for 12 hours.
    Then drain.
    Simmer vinegar and spices for 10 minutes. Remove the sack of cloves.
    Then add vegetables and simmer for 10 minutes until boiling.
    Then pour into hot clean jars and seal. Water bath for 5 minutes, counting time from when the water starts boiling.
