1932 Angel Food Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. granulated sugar
    12 egg whites or 1 1/2 c.
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 c. sifted cake flour
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/4 tsp. almond flavoring
    6 tsp. cold water
Preparation
    Beat egg whites frothy.
    Add salt and cream of tartar.
    Beat stiff but not dry.
    Gradually fold in half the sugar.
    Sift remaining flour and sugar together and slowly fold into mixture. Fold in flavoring and water.
    Pour into ungreased angel food cake pan. Jar the pan once.
    Bake 1 hour at 325\u00b0.
    Remove from oven. Invert pan and let stand until cold.
