Memaw'S Fresh Fridge Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. white sugar
    2 c. cider vinegar
    1/2 c. salt
    1 tsp. celery seed
    3 qt. sliced cucumbers (8 to 10)
    2 to 3 small onions
    1 green bell pepper
    1 red pepper
Preparation
    Scrape cucumbers with a nylon scourer or vegetable brush to remove wax.
    Bring sugar, vinegar, salt and celery seed to a boil; let cool.
    Slice cucumbers, onions and peppers.
    When liquid is cool, pour over cuke mixture in a covered glass container or crock.
    Marinate in refrigerator at least 24 hours.
    Put mixture into pint jars with tight-fitting lids.
    Store all covered jars in refrigerator.
    Makes 5 pints.
