Refrigerator Rolls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 cake yeast
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. shortening (lard)
    1 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    flour
    water
Preparation
    Dissolve yeast, 1 teaspoon salt in 2 cups lukewarm water.
    Add enough flour to make sponge and let rise in warm place 2 hours. Cream together shortening and sugar.
    Beat in eggs.
    Add 2 cups flour alternating with 1 cup cold water.
    Combine with sponge mixture.
    Mix well.
    Knead in enough flour to make consistency of bread dough.
    Let rise twice, kneading down each time.
    Make into cloverleaf rolls.
    Let rise 2 hours.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 15 to 20 minutes, or until lightly browned.
    Keep dough in refrigerator. Knead down each day.
    Use as desired.
    Yields 4 to 5 dozen rolls.
