3/4 c. quick cooking oatmeal
1/2 c. butter (room temperature)
1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1 egg, lightly beaten
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
6 oz. chocolate bits
2 oz. chocolate bits
Preparation

In a food processor, work oatmeal until powder-like.
Also, take 2 ounces of chocolate bits and blend in processor until powder-like; set aside with oatmeal.
With electric mixer, cream the butter and the sugars until light.
Add the egg and vanilla. With lowest speed, add flour, salt, baking soda, oatmeal and chocolate bit mixture.
Mix thoroughly.
Add 6 ounces chocolate bits.
Spoon walnut size balls onto cookie sheet.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
