Coconut Cream Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. flour
    3 c. milk
    1/4 tsp. salt
    4 eggs
    1 c. coconut
    3 Tbsp. butter
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Use pastry for single crust pie.
    Combine first 4 ingredients. Cook and stir the mixture until thickened and bubbly.
    Reduce heat; cook and stir 2 more minutes.
    Remove from heat.
    Separate 4 eggs.
    Set whites aside.
    Beat egg yolks slightly.
    Gradually stir 1 cup of hot mixture into yolks.
    Return mixture to saucepan. Bring to boil; cook and stir 2 minutes more.
    Remove from heat. Add coconut, butter and vanilla.
    Pour into baked pie shell.
    Top with meringue.
