Southwestern Stew - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. lean pork
1/2 lb. lite link sausage
1 Tbsp. oil
1 Tbsp. chili powder
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 (14 1/2 oz.) can Mexican style tomatoes
1 (4 oz.) can diced green chilies
1 can corn
3/4 c. instant rice
Preparation

Cut pork and sausage into bite size pieces.
In large pot, brown pork in oil for 10 to 15 minutes; drain.
Salt and pepper to taste, if desired.
Put pork back into pot and add sausage.
Stir chili powder and garlic into tomato sauce.
Pour over pork and sausage.
Cover and simmer for 10 minutes.
Uncover and cook an additional 10 minutes or until pork is tender.
After pork is done, stir in rice.
Turn off fire and let sit for 5 minutes. Serve with garlic toast prepared in Dutch oven or cornbread. Serves 4.
