Gingerbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. New Orleans molasses (dark)
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. oil
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. ginger
1 c. boiling water
2 1/2 c. flour (unsifted)
1 tsp. baking soda
Preparation
-
Blend together first seven ingredients and stir in boiling water.
Mix in unsifted flour.
Dissolve baking soda in 2 tablespoons of hot water; add to batter.
Pour into greased 8 x 8 x 2-inch cake pan.
Bake 30 minutes at 350\u00b0.
Yield: 1 pan (9 servings).
