Old Fashioned Apple Fritters - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 medium apples (I use Granny Smith or a fresh, tart apple)
    1 1/3 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2/3 c. milk
    1 egg, well beaten
Preparation
    Pare, core and cut apples into eighths, then into thin slices. Mix flour, baking powder and salt and sift.
    Add milk and egg gradually.
    Stir apples into batter and drop by spoonfuls into hot vegetable oil.
    Drain and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
