Sweet Potato Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2/3 c. shortening
2 2/3 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 (16 oz.) can sweet potatoes or yams, drained
2/3 c. milk
3 1/3 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
2 tsp. grated orange rind
1 c. chopped pecans
Preparation

Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
Grease two 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pans. Cream shortening and sugar until fluffy in large mixer bowl. Blend in flour, soda, salt, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg and orange rinds.
Stir in pecans.
Pour into pans.
Bake for 70 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Yield: 2 loaves.
