Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1 c. butter
2 1/4 c. flour
1 egg
1 c. sliced, unblanched almonds
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar.
Beat in egg and vanilla.
Add flour and nuts.
Roll in small balls and space on a greased cooking sheet.
Put a cloth wrung out in ice water on the bottom of a glass and press cookie to shape.
Bake in moderate oven (350 degrees) about 10 minutes.
