Grandma'S Lye Soap - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 can lye
1 qt. rain water
5 lb. grease
1/2 c. ammonia
1/2 c. Borax
1/2 c. rain water
2 oz. oil of sassafras

Preparation

Add 1 tablespoon of gelatin to all cooked cream pies.
I stir it in with the sugar and add while cooking.
