Mom'S Persimmon Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. persimmon pulp
    2 c. raisins, soaked
    4 c. flour plus 2 Tbsp.
    1 c. shortening or margarine
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. chopped nuts
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. brown sugar
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. cloves
    2 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Mix pulp with soda and set aside.
    Cream shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla.
    Blend thoroughly; add pulp.
    Sift all dry ingredients and mix in raisins and nuts.
    Add by cupful to liquid mixture.
    Drop by teaspoonful on ungreased cookie sheet if nonstick (grease lightly if other).
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.
    Cookies will be soft and moist. Cookies freeze well.
